Planning a South East placement from Harlow

If you live beyond Harlow and are looking for a fully trained dog, start by describing the home the dog would actually join. Tell us whether the dog will live with children, other pets or frequent visitors, and what a normal weekday looks like. A quiet household looking for a companion and a family looking for protection are asking for different temperaments and different training. We discuss that distinction before suggesting any dog, rather than treating 'fully trained' as one fixed specification.

Our base is in Harlow. The site lists Essex, Hertfordshire, London and Cambridgeshire among the areas we work across, with enquiries from elsewhere in the South East welcome. That makes your address relevant to the conversation, but it does not mean a particular dog is currently available near you. Share where you are and whether you can travel for an initial conversation or meeting. We can then discuss what is practical for seeing the dog, assessing the match and arranging handover; nothing needs to be assumed from a postcode alone.

Before agreeing a placement, ask what the individual dog has been trained to do and how that has been assessed outside the training setting. A companion should fit the routines and people in your home; an obedience-trained dog still needs its new handler to understand its cues; and a family protection prospect calls for a careful conversation about temperament, control and everyday life as well as security. We will talk through the household and the role first. If the available dogs are not a sensible fit, waiting for a more suitable match is better than taking a dog simply because it is ready now.

Handover is part of the placement, not just transport from Harlow to another address. Ask what the transition at your home will involve, who in the household needs to understand the dog's commands and how you will keep the training consistent afterwards. Our existing process includes a handover and aftercare; any practical travel arrangements for your part of the South East should be discussed before anything is agreed. When you enquire, include your location, the dog's intended role and the people and animals it will live with. That gives us a useful starting point for an honest conversation about suitability and next steps, rather than a promise based on a regional label.

  • ✓Describe the household and the dog's intended role before discussing availability
  • ✓Discuss travel, meeting and handover arrangements for your address
  • ✓Ask how training was assessed and how to maintain it after placement
  • ✓Wait for a suitable match rather than choosing by location alone

Questions buyers usually ask

Do you cover the South East regularly?

Yes — the South East is within our normal working area, and handover to a the South East address is straightforward.

How do you decide which dog is right for a family?

Suitability comes before everything. We look at the household — children, other pets, working hours, home and garden setup, activity levels and any specific requirements such as personal or property protection. We then match the temperament, drive and training profile of the dog to those needs. If we don't have the right dog available, we say so honestly rather than force a placement.

How does the process of enquiring about a fully trained dog work?

Every placement starts with a proper conversation. We talk through your household, your experience with dogs, what you actually need the dog to do day to day, and any non-negotiables. From there we discuss what's currently in training with us, what may become available, and whether it makes sense to go on our availability list while the right match is developed. Nothing is rushed and nothing is placed until we're all satisfied it's the right fit.

Can I request a specific breed?

You can tell us your preferences and we'll take them seriously, but the right temperament for the role always comes ahead of a specific breed. If we think a different breed is a better fit for your household we'll say so and explain why. If a specific breed is essential to you and we don't currently have one we're satisfied with, we'll put you on the availability list rather than compromise.

What handover and aftercare is included?

A full in-person handover is part of every placement. We show you exactly how the dog has been trained, what commands and structure it lives to, and how to maintain that at home. Aftercare support by phone is included, and follow-up sessions can be arranged where sensible.

Do you guarantee behaviour or outcomes?

No trainer who is being straight with you can guarantee a dog's future behaviour in a new home for the rest of its life — anything living and thinking can be influenced by how it's kept. What we do stand behind is the standard of training the dog leaves us with, our honest assessment of temperament, and ongoing support so that training is maintained. If issues arise we want to hear from you.
